School Bus-In Performances


The Astoria School of Ballet and The Liberty Theater proudly present 

The Velveteen Rabbit, a ballet based on the book by Margery Williams. Choreographed to music by Léo Delibes, one of ballet’s best composers, the story-ballet features lively characters with colorful costumes and dramatic dancing. Help celebrate the arts and encourage appreciation by exposing children to the joy of dance and classical music.

School performances run a little under one hour and are on May 23 at 9:30 am & 12:30 pm and May 24 at 9:15 am. To schedule your school please contact director@liberty-theater.org

This presentation is suitable for K-12 students. The cost, invoiced to the school is $2 per student, with 1 chaperone per every 5 students free. The Curriculum Guide will be available April 1st at liberty-theater.org.

Liberty Theatre is pleased to announce it’s annual summer theater camp production of BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE! Missoula Children’s Theatre production of Blackbeard the Pirate will be in residency at the Liberty Theater from July 22 through the 27, 2013

What starts as a lazy day at the beach, quickly turns into mystery and adventure when the search for Blackbeard’s treasure begins! Tales both past and present lead us on a search of untold riches. Just where has Blackbeard and his crew hidden their legendary treasure?

OPEN AUDITIONS will be held at the Liberty on Monday, July 22 from 10 am until noon. Those auditioning should arrive at 9:45 am and plan to stay for the full two hours.

Among the roles to be cast are Blackbeard and his crew of bearded Pirates, Sailors of the High Seas, cranky Crabs and Crocodiles, magical Mermaids and Seaweed Creatures, Parrots and even a group of Beach Bums! Students entering 1st grade through 12th grade, are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

The Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals from 10 am to 3 pm each day for the remainder of the week.

BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE will be presented on Friday July 26 at 5:30 pm and Saturday July 27, at 2 pm at the Liberty Theater. The Missoula Children's Theatre residency is brought to you by the Liberty Theater. Tickets are $5 and available at the Liberty Box Office 325.5922 Ext 55 and at the door.

There is a modest charge of $10 per student for this weeklong camp of fun, rehearsal and performance. There will be an additional fee to participate in any (each) of the extra workshops available throughout the week.
